Sooo…

Government Leader Joseph Schow thinks “We have a mandate from Albertans that was given to us in the last election,” adding “we have a job to do” does he?

I don’t recall any of Bills 18, 20, 21 or 22 being part of the UCP election platform last year. A UCP mandate from Take Back Alberta is not a mandate from Albertans at large and most Albertans find the provisions within these bills to be unwarranted and unwanted.

If he doesn’t want these bills debated in full, perhaps he should withdraw them.
Exactly, this can't be pointed out too often, particularly when a government claims a "mandate' for something significant that was not discussed in an election campaign.

The "we got a mandate" argument it at best a weak one, often made by someone who doesn't have other good arguments to defend what they are doing or who isn't really interested in defending it but has to make an effort to do so.

"While the Alberta government likely won’t commit public money to support much-needed hotels in downtown Calgary near the BMO Centre, Premier Danielle Smith isn’t opposed to providing broad supports to help get projects off the ground, she said Thursday."

It kind of sounds like a weasily way of saying yes we will shuffle some money to them somehow, although not in an obvious or transparent way, but it a backhanded one.

Now that C**T of a Premier May build hotels in YYC? The fact that she didn't automatically amd profoundly say “No!” Is concerning. “Won’t likely…..” what kind of a an answer is that? So she’ll build the infrastructure and community rink……

She lives rent free in your head eh?

CBC is reporting on a new poll by Janet Brown that shows NDP and UCP statistically tied: 46% to 48%. This would actually be an NDP win as UCP support has increased in the rural areas and decreased in Calgary!
In a first past the post/electoral college system horse race polls are near useless.

Vote efficiency needs to be taken into consideration and all ridings need to be looked at individually.
