Site Plan Control Approval ('SPA') application respecting 1120 Dupont Street, City of Toronto (the 'Site'). This SPA application proposes a 6 storey selfstorage warehouse building for the Site with a gross floor area of 5861.25 square metres.

According to the Junctioneer, last September:
"Staff recommendation,
Refuse the application to demolish the subject mixed use building at 1120 Dupont Street that contains one residential dwelling unit because there is no replacement building.
The building contains one residential rental unit.
There is no new pending or approved new building permit for the site."
However, a Teperman Demolition sign was spotted on the boarded up building.

I guess self-storage is a good business case, but Dupont seems to have more upside potential for midrise condos at this point. I wonder how they figured this use was more profitable than a midrise condo. A lot of people would clamour to live walking distance to the Bloor line and close to the nice single-family neighbourhood of Dovercourt Village. The very nice Dovercourt park is only a 5 minute walk from here as well.

It's too bad there won't be ground-floor retail. That would help animate this commercial area with more pedestrian traffic.

does anyone have the contact for the general contractor? I want to know who's doing the glass installation for this project?
