Interesting... They've updated the demising plans for 100 Bloor West. Looks like someone has leased the main floor where Pottery Barn is; however, the second floor and Yorkville area (where Milli is today) are unleased. Someone has taken approx 10,000 square feet of retail space.

The new demising plans:

The old demising plans:

I don't see why CBRE would pivot to leasing out the entire second floor + cumberland entrance unless the front half was leased. Retail Insider - any tips/thoughts?

Yes -- that package might just indicate options to expand the former Milli space on Critchley Lane. According to the broker's site, the Pottery Barn space is still available, and the remaining retail space (not taken by Holt Renfrew Men or the 12,000 sf Hermes) is customizable: http://www.cbre.ca/EN/o/toronto-dow.../current-listings-for-sale-and-for-lease.aspx

It's been awfully quiet on the eataly front . No talk of it at all. Anybody know what's going on?

Chanel coming? Oh oh, when my girlfriend finds out I am going to have to sell my car and bike to work or take a camel or something --- whichever is cheaper, because she is going to shop until I drop!

I think.... I hope... That yorkdale is a way for them to enter and test out the Toronto market before they decide to invest into bigger spaces such as Louis Vuitton did and Dior is doing now ( even though Dior did not go that route).

The planner responsible for this area conducted a walk-around with about two dozen area residents yesterday afternoon. To an earlier discussion on this thread, he noted that there is considerable ambiguity with regard to maximum height allowances on Yorkville and Cumberland between Avenue and Bay.

I expect that will become an issue in the near future when we see First Capital's plans for the Yorkville-fronting retail space occupied by Over the Rainbow, Summer's Ice Cream, and others. That's a very significant stretch of Yorkville and the fact that it is currently, for lack of a more technically appropriate term, "1.5 stories tall" is a significant contributing factor to the "village feel" that makes Yorkville unique.

The planner noted conflicting and ambiguous planning documents that a developer could trifle with, and that the most clear existing declaration of a height maximum was "4 storeys"; he pointed out the obvious, which is that there is no actual height designation included in that stipulation. (4 storeys could be a supertall if each storey was 400 feet in height; oversimplification, yes, but illustrative of the problematic ambiguity.)

I'm not sure this really counts as news, but noting for the known Eataly uber-fans on this thread that BuzzBuzz posted a new story last week citing an anonymous source who "confirmed" that Eataly would be opening in Manulife. The article acknowledged, though, that the source was unable to confirm whether an agreement had been reached between the Bloor Street Diner and Eataly folks (hence my qualifier that I don't think this is really news).

The Body Shop is taking over the old Nine West spot. They used to have a location closer to Yonge Street on the north side, but that closed years ago.

This sounds temporary to me...

It is temporary. They didn't have a pop-up thing on their door until after I posted.

Another luxury retail announcement for Yorkville Avenue. This is a unique one -- super-pricey streetwear brand Off-White by Virgil Abloh. Kanye West is associated with the brand, and there are only 2 confirmed Off-White locations for North America (the other is in NYC).

Kanye West always looks like he got dressed in the dark. Now you can look that way too! Ripped jeans are only $817  https://www.off---white.com/en/CA/men/t/categories/pants
