Hah, I lived in that one (above bottle screw bills) for the first 2 years I lived in Calgary (far too long ago). Up on the 18th floor of the tower (so 26 up) west facing, I have never had a better view.

Amazing render! Though, I feel like we're setting ourselves up for a massive disappointment when they (Beltline block, that is) turn out to be, like, two 100m towers and the unit count was wrong. 😂 I wonder if @MichaelS has any insight for us here.

There's a lot of balconies on these towers. As I recall, the 35 storey Oliver is around 460 units and the second Park Central is 39 storeys with podium and 530 units. 500 units per tower is not going to be 190 metre twins. One being the tallest residential in the city is as plausible as three 30 to 40 storey towers. The number of units per floor could be anything.

For what it's worth, if you look at the GFA numbers on MG2's website, the total floor area stated is 1,835,000sf. When you subtract the GGA & Conversion floor areas (314,306sf + 130,680sf) that leaves around 1,400,000sf, more than enough for a couple of ~200m res buildings, including the podiums.

Pinnacle Lougheed Burnaby for reference.

Is the 1.8 million square feet just the above ground area or does it also include a 500,000 square foot underground garage? 11 to 1200 square feet allotted to each unit (roughly 1.75 million square feet and 1550 units) is not seen.

Likely the above-ground area. 1,800,000sf was specified with 1,475 units, as well as 35,000sf commercial space. There could also be an office component we don't know of yet.

I think it looks even nicer in that one. Definitely gonna be a welcomed addition to First Street here. Plus once that block is done, we’ll be looking at another 2000 ish people living just on that block.

From the article: "In the northeast, for Royop Development, it has designed the new North Hill Co-op as a mixed-use retail/residential development that will offer 192 new homes in a 29-storey tower."

I am assuming that is an error - as the Munro block is 189 units but only 7 storeys...
Maybe they amended the DP and added some height 😂

It's the same boxy Park Central vibe as the last renderings. The glass looks better in this one. Triplets will be overkill in the skyline. The development looks good on the ground.
