The Fort Calgary museum expansion is nearing its funding target and should be under construction within the next year or two hopefully. So I thought we should start a thread for it. The revitalization is sounding really dang cool, they are going to include exhibits about the indigenous peoples and their history in the area, as well as an exhibit about the future of the site. It's looking pretty well done.

I forgot all about this one, will be good to see something new there! Hope as part of the revitalization they make the concert venues on the property permanent, Fort Calgary hosts some pretty cool events!

Definitely toned down from the initial design but anything is better than the existing building. Nice to see this one moving forward.

It's all a little murky... Kevin Nyhoff is now a design principal with Cannon Design.

BUMP!! We might see some action on this soon given that the Residential School Memorial project will be in the works nearby, and talks of an IGP haven't and hopefully never go away.
https://www.nyhoff.ca/projects#/fort-calgary-museum/ Nyhoff says they are in talks with CMLC about it. Redesign looks pretty cool — happy with the concentric circles motif, feels actually Indigenous-inspired compared to the mediocre-modern-with-a-buffalo-tacked-on look.

This project is deader than a door nail. Funding (from other levels of government) when announced doesn't sit in a bank account waiting to be used forever. A lot of money which was on hand was also absorbed in many redesigns.
