Oh that’s awesome. Hate the amount of roadway involved in it, but still great density near a station.

Man it's a shame that bottle depot couldn't be purchased and horton road rerouted closer to the tracks until the pedestrian bridge, would make for a far better footprint. Good TOD project though!

It's kind of a weird lot. It's too bad the city couldn't swap this with the park and ride lot. Have the development right beside the station and the park and ride on the awkward lot.

The positive is if this gets built and the city ever decides to develop the park and ride lot, it'll be quite a dense area.

Hopefully this gets built, Horton road really needs more development like this. I hope the 3rd and 4th tower at the London site get built too. Maybe it'll spur some redevelopment of the many other seemingly abandoned lots along that road.

In 1962 it looks like there was an industrial/commercial building constructed on the site:

In 1984 a Waterpark was built:

In 1995 a carwash was built to the south:

By 2001 the Waterpark was decommissioned:

By 2005 the warehouse was torn down:

And a prime piece of land, right beside a C-train station laid fallow for the next 19 years....

Bonzai Waterslide Ad

I only ever recall driving by and seeing the top of the slides, were they really as dangerous as I've heard? Also I seem to recall hearing that warehouse just north was an all ages night club at some point?

I don’t really recall hearing (or experiencing) them being dangerous - at least not any more than other waterslides. I think it’s just hard to make money on water parks in our climate.

I’m not sure about the night club, but I know it was indoor mini golf for quite a while.

The dad of one of my classmates in elementary owned the indoor minigolf place. I think we even went for a field trip once.

Went to the waterslides many times. They were fun.
