A big photo update. I was away for a bunch of August so hadn't been through the site for over a month. Lots of progress.

First up is Radio Park itself. I have heard it will informally be open by the fall, with the official ribbon cutting in spring. Based on the progress, I can see that happening:

The steel beams for the roof of Radio Block are now starting to go up, you can get a sense of the curvature of it. I think this is going to be a pretty unique and cool building, situated right on the park!

The Quarters is not quite topped out yet, and it looks like we will start to see glass on the ground floor pretty soon:

Adelaide's parkade is starting to take shape:

A few buildings in District Townhomes still need to be finished, but they are also putting in the final landscaping for some of the earlier ones. I anticipate we will start seeing occupancy in a month or two:

The final buildings of Trico's West83rd Townhomes Phase 1 are underway. Occupancy has taken place with some of the other buildings, others are getting close:

The 8 Single Family Homes on the west side that Trico is building are all up to their full exterior shape, but still in various states of finishing:

Here is the smaller park in the SW corner of the community that Trico provided as part of their portion:

Second post, as the first had too many pictures in is:

Mondrian's west building is nearly complete, showing the much more tan look than the whtie renderings would suggest:

Plaza's west building looks to be topped out, with the east starting to rise. Also, the architectural supports for the actual "plaza" are waiting in the stating area to be installed:

The excavation for Oak & Olive is well underway, but not quite finished. Still no foundation work yet from what I could see:

The medium format grocery store (now confirmed as a Sobeys) has also progressed quite a bit, including the retail that will front onto Broadcast Avenue:

Awesome update @MichaelS !

I wonder if the new Sobeys will ultimate close the Sobeys over in Strathcona? It's really not that far apart. 85th Street continues to build it's weird suburban main street out. Very interesting corridor to watch.

I doubt it - Petro Canada just decided to build a bigger gas station with an A&W across the street from the Strathcona Sobeys. I gotta think that Sobeys business case is stronger than competing so close with the No Frills and Co-op

Like many areas which had 2 Sobeys one might change into a Freshco.

Another month has passed since my last photo update, so I went for a walk at lunch today:
Radio Park is really coming along, lots of progress. Final top soil and landscaping/planting was underway, some of the playground has been installed, proper signage. No animal scultpures yet. Also, the extension of 8A Avenue west is being constructed:

This is an artificial turf, I think there are supposed to be some sports courts or other uses in this part:

Not quite the finishing touches on the north side just yet:

Radio Block, the commercial building fronting the park, has its full steel structure up now by the looks of it:

Glass instalation has started on The Quarters, with the lower 2 levels in by the looks of it:

And the parkade for Adelaide is rising up from down under (sorry, couldn't resist the bad joke on a Friday afternoon):

District Townhomes are nearly complete, with some having occupancy already. Just finishing up landscaping and some interior work by the looks of it:

More to come in second post.

Some other District Towhome photos:

Trico's West 83rd first phase has the last 3 townhome buildings under construction:

Utility work and site prep is starting for the West 83rd Townhomes Phase 2:

The 8 single family homes on the south side of 8A Avenue are getting close to completion. Driveways will be poured soon by the looks of it:

Mondrian's first building is getting closer and closer to finished, second one is not far behind:
1728082595531.png

Plaza's west building has glass going in on the ground floor:
1728082629852.png

The east building of Plaza will probably start rising quickly now that the formwork is on the typical floor plan. You can see the sculpture/structure elements for the central plaza in this shot, waiting to be installed:

Oak & Olive's parkade is still being excavated (it is pretty big by the looks of it):

And the medium format grocery store is also getting closer to completion, with some of the facade materials being installed for the CRUs that front Broadcast Avenue:

@MichaelS any idea when the City will re-open 81st street at the south end of West District? With all the new units and building construction along Broadcast Avenue, it seems like an additional access point will be needed soon

Not sure. The sidewalk portion is open, but not for traffic. I have heard that the developer has done this to try and prevent construction traffic cut-through for the communities to the south. But, I imagine the pressure for the people occupying those townhomes will soon start to out weigh that.

Thanks for the insight. Always appreciate your photo updates as well!
