I was there in the 80s. I don't remember much, other than great food

Its amazing how skinny all those condos are.

Cartagena,Columbia-an interesting South American city...

TA: Good tour of Cartagena,Columbia - even with the problems Columbia has it looks like a warm, inviting place to visit. The neighborhoods look interesting and the coast...nice! The equatorial climate would bore me after a while though because the weather is basically the same year round. LI MIKE

Cartagena has become a tourist destination in the last 10 years. Cruise ships use it as a port and there are even circuit parties that take place there in the winter time. The food is awesome and the old part of the city is spectacular with its colonial architecture (what Cuba would look like if they painted and renovated their buildings).
The people are very warm and friendly and many Europeans and Canadians go there on holiday. It is a must see destination.
Great beaches and great party atmosphere if thats what you are into.
