"In June 2006 City Council directed City Planning to establish the Design Review Panel Pilot Project for a test period in pilot areas in each District of the City.
The purpose of this exciting new initiative is to improve the design quality of the public realm which is an expressed goal of the Official Plan and City Council's Beautiful City Initiative. The Pilot Project is tailored to Toronto and builds on the successes of other Canadian and international cities with Design Review Panels."
