They can't find a way of capturing the birds? And what are the birds eating?
Birds lived for years under the tent at Gourmet Fair at Sherway. Food merchants would quietly replace someone's food if a bird ever crapped in it - which was a rare occurrence nevertheless. Sherway had sparrows, which may be the same here, I wasn't close enough to them to confirm.
Apparently the birds are eating salad.

Hate to be negative - but how long will it be before the slide is abandoned because of accidents or lawsuits?

slide is very safe
My 5 year old son went down the slide 3 times the other day...very safe...and actually not very fast...he came to a stop each time well before the opening at the bottom.
