A second relatively large ball park for yeg is definitely a bold choice.
At least this ball park will have a tenant, unlike Shell Place in the Mac....which has a ball park AND a football stadium....Even though construction is obviously well underway, I still find it hard to believe that a development of this scale will be in Spruce Grove. I keep having the feeling that this will become stalled for some reason, though I know that's unlikely.
I think if you count this as YEG's ballpark then you have to count the Okotoks Dawgs' stadium as in YYC. Okotoks is basically in Calgary now.Steel going up. This will be our 2nd ballpark…..compared to YYC’s - 0.0 baseball parks…..as their old Canons ballpark has been shuttered for decades now.
When I was working on this I always wondered what they were planning for as I didn't think there was any teams moving in. They Did have a CFL game and a concert but not much else. It's a beautiful facility though. At least this ball park will have a tenant, unlike Shell Place in the Mac....which has a ball park AND a football stadium....

Ft Mac is full of examples of corporate greenwashing that don't make a lot of sense. When I was working on this I always wondered what they were planning for as I didn't think there was any teams moving in. They Did have a CFL game and a concert but not much else. It's a beautiful facility though.
I wish some of that spending could come to EdmontonFt Mac is full of examples of corporate greenwashing that don't make a lot of sense.
