Finch West, I think, is too far down the line to be changing at this point (thankfully).

The project most susceptible to change is the OL (YNSE is a 905, suburban, tunneled extension - I don't think ML will change anything based on the Royal Orchard protests).
Finch was “too far along to cancel” as soon as it reached financial close in the dying days of the Wynne Government. Rumour has it that the contract was heavily poison-pilled meaning cancellation really wasn’t an option, as it would have been extremely expensive to cancel. I would assume that the Ford government continued this trend with their projects.

Work in the Scarlett Road/Eglinton Ave. West area beginning in November

Tomorrow's EGWLRT Open House Power Point is up

Seems like the EGWLRT Extension is a done deal and will be underground. The TBM's will already be installed and tunneling will be underway by the time the Ontario elections come around. At least we know this side of the line will be extended... fingers crossed for the east side

Wow, it's amazing how it didn't take long for this project to get started.

They are using TBMs to get into Mount Dennis? I always assumed that would be cut and cover as it's such a small section.
In 2015, the TBMs tunneled from the west (Black Creek) arrived on the west side of Allen Road. They were extracted from the west side of Allen Road, moved across Eglinton Avenue (on flat bed trailers), and re-inserted on the east side of Allen Road. Will something similar happen at Mt. Dennis? It will be a short section, but doable. At Mt. Dennis, they are planning to have a extraction shaft to remove it.

Meanwhile, over at Scarlett Road...

I think it’s a good transit lesson that we don’t need to always spend a decade planning something. It can happen fast if we want it to.
It really depends on how you like your flavour of transit design, one where you meticulously look over every single detail, or where you push a "Get things done" agenda.

Even in their most recent presentation, it's unclear.

Note that they never used the term "TBM" where the eastern tunnel will start and where it will tie in with the existing short lengths beyond the platforms at Mount Dennis. They may use a TBM - but another option may be to mine it.

I don't remember where, but I believe it was confirmed that it will be bored.
