For the purposes of this post, the "Entertainment District" is defined as extending from Queen to Front, and from University to Bathurst. Anyone have any idea of what's happening at Queen and Spadina on the McDonald's building?

P.S. Amazing compilation, thanks.

Great job, Mongo! Can you do the same for Humber Bay Shores / South Etobicoke?

Awesome job Mongo! 48 projects....Wow!

Boymelgreen at 525 Adelaide is gone, but will be replaced by another developer and a different building.

There is new version of 620 King Street West possibly in the works. The proposal could be much more significant.

There is something completely new coming to 555 Richmond Street West.

Not all of this is the Entertainment District. A chunk of the area defined above belongs to the Fashion District.

Fantastic list. Thanks for all the effort that went into this compilation.

This area is quickly and truly becoming--as they say in the parlance of our times--EPIC!. My only disappointment is that the one project I was really holding out for is on HOLD. Of course that would be Teeple's former Gansevoort hotel. Is that man cursed in these parts, are what? He is, arguably, the most original, most daring and most brilliant local architect and his only two high profile tower designs have gone down in flames. He really should be the go to guy in this town and the one to administer the massive, sh!t purging enema that this town's architecture fraternity desperately needs. Hopefully, this day will come.

Here is a map with all seriously proposed 20+ storey projects. As it turns out, they are all east of Spadina (so far).

The number indicates the number of storeys; blue means 'proposed', green means 'approved'; violet means 'under construction' and grey means 'completed' or 'nearly completed'.

I have also included the Ritz-Carlton (52s) in the original list of residential/hotel projects.

note -- added 15 Mercer Street (49 storeys) and 263 Adelaide Street West (41 storeys based on the render).

note[/i] -- added 318 Richmond Street West (39 storeys).

111 Bathurst St--coming soon to the Waddington's site.

Really the ED is from U to Spadina and Queen to Front.

315 Adelaide St W is for sale--got $9 million to spend and it's yours. I'd ask for 65s and get 55s here. http://www.trebcommercial.com/photos/C1913249.jpg

Also coming is 8? Spadina (current site of Freda's clothing store on west side of Bathurst, south of King). Maybe Urbanation can tell us what this site recently sold for.

Thanks Mongo! Fantastic. What's the 48s proposed building on south side of King?

That would be 355 King:

January 12, 2011

"Project: proposed construction of two mixed-use, residential and commercial buildings. The project proposes a 48 storey building and an 18 storey building. There will be a total of 486 condominium units with 11290 sq meters of amenity space."

This appears to be almost identical to the original 2008 design:

June 5, 2008

"Proposal: two mixed use towers having heights of 48 and 18 storeys. A total of 486 residential units, 111 hotel units and 1, 170 square meters of non-residential floor area."

There is a new rendering for 525 Adelaide (Adelaide Residences) on Core Architect's website and it lists Boymelgreen as the developer.

Isn't this the new design?
