I mean you could make the same argument about any sport or activity. Why would anyone want to watch people hit/throw/kick a ball around, etc...
I played sports all the way through university. Personally what I like about professional sports is that these athletes can do things in their sleep that I couldn’t do on my best day and I was a good athlete. So the enjoyment is that I find it fascinating how big of a gap there is in ability and athletic iq.

Side note at least for me It has nothing to do with needing to be apart of something or anything like that. In fact I almost can’t stand watching games at the stadiums anymore because they almost prioritizing making it an “event” than the actual sport. I don’t need free things falling from the rafters. I don’t need a kiss cam. I don’t need a dj booth. But hey I’m getting old.

I'm amazed the land at 427 and Rexdale was never developed.
Making large industrial lands inhabitable and attractive to buyers can be a massive effort, especially with the height restrictions here. Tough to maximize profit when you mass just a few acres and plop down 5+1’s or 10+1’s next to car dealerships, warehouses and parking lots. Moreover would the city even approve.

It takes a huge land massing and financial investment, Woodbine own all that land enclosed by the highways, railway and Rexdale so they‘re best suited to take on a project like this.

Some pics from today lots of concrete everywhere, at least the BIAs have got Metrolinx to add some extra decorative lighting. The culvert west of Weston road still appears to require quite a bit of work.

I actually thought they'd be further ahead but it looks like they can wrap up these details pretty quickly.

Years ago; we were told that they were going to move the Rexdale and Kipling Canadian Tire there. Long Before the former Sears site was available.

I'm guessing that short live proposal came with the woodbine live proposal years ago. I wonder if the finch west lrt was built long ago if it would have sprung up more development

According to the docs at the beginning of march the project is "99.16" complete, I see a looooooooooot of unfinished work in that 0.84%

On the bright side I saw the platform lighting on last night at one of the outdoor stations so we are getting closer!

well what part of the 0.84% is non essential to the opening of the line such as landscaping and minor deficiency work?

the bulk of what I've seen them doing has been final road grading, paving, sidewalk, land and hardscaping work which all needed the warmer weather to do. the rest I'm guessing has been deficiency corrections.
