Nice pictures. I haven't been to Halifax since '96, but I do miss their donairs. Halifax was the first city other than Toronto that I explored on my own. I must have covered three-quarters of the City in a week. I just bought Wu-Tang Forever and listened to it in my discman each day till the batteries died, which usually took about 3-4 hours. I was most interested in the high-rise buildings, not so much the streetscape and other components within the urban realm. I need to make a trip back there.
^^I took these shots over a three day period, however many were taken at about 6 am on a Saturday. The waterfront and several streets are quite busy. Barrington has a lot of empty storefronts but overall Halifax is a pretty fun and vibrant city.
Flar: Neat Halifax,Nova Scotia tour here!
It looks like a very interesting city being the largest one in Canada's Maritimes I recall...
I will comment at a later date-I noticed many interesting things among these pics...

(Sorry to bump such an old thread, but was missing my home city today and thought I'd search for posts referencing it.)
Beautiful shots of my hometown...
But I'm glad we moved to Toronto. Halifax (and NS in general) is heading for a demographic shift that will be difficult to overcome. Aging population, bumbling and incompetent "leaders", staggering tax load, fleeing youth, aversion to immigrants, over-reliance on government jobs/handouts, over-reliance on bribery to draw (temporary) corporate interest, inability to capitalize on internal resources, i.e. always looking outward for someone to come in with their bag of money and save the day. Ships or no ships, I don't think the future will be kind to NS, and the Maritimes in general, as the future unfolds.
