The Bayfront

This tour looks at the west harbour area, Bayfront Park and Cootes Paradise. Many people don't
know about Hamilton's natural beauty, or its great quality of life, but it's starting to catch on. The
redevelopment of the waterfront has led to the gentrification of the North End.

Yep! I remember when she was near Ontario Place. That was the only time I boarded her. She was also in much worse condition. Before or after she came to Hamilton, she was restored.

Hamilton's interesting Bayfront-nice!

Flar: Again interesting pics of Hamilton's Bay Front and harbor. I figured there would be more then just industrial areas and ships. It seems to me the only features missing are salt water and perhaps some waves here.
I would also mention pic#32-Bayview Junction-one of the heaviest-used stretches of rail track in all of Canada. Good stuff! LI MIKE

My New Backyard!

Great pix of my backyard, Flar ;)

Just a quick comment to LIMike, the Bayview Junction is getting a much needed (and delayed) upgrade with grade-seperated relief tracks for when the Electric GO reaches James North GO Stn on it's way to Niagara. Just another reason why the North End will rise again!

Quick Observations:
#4 John North Towers -- Once seen as one of the shadiest residential towers in Hamilton; is now a sought-after rental opportunity! I know someone moving from Barrie into one of these towers!
#15 Harbour Cruises are rediculously popular now-a-days! Always packed, and so many different opportunities! Check out their site: http://www.hamiltonwaterfront.com/hhcschedulesrates.php
#21 Gore-to-Shore Trolley -- Great FREE way to get from Gore Park in Hamilton's Central Business District to the Bayfront. And it's FREE! They even play music on it!
#23 Waterfront Trail -- Best Rollerblading Trail I have ever been on! Hands-down way better than Toronto's waterfront trail!
#30 Waterfront Trolley -- I dislike this lil thing. Although very popular, it sometimes causes mild chaos as it shares a trail with bladers, skaters, walkers, cyclists and hyper, meandering dogs!
#35 Co-Op Housing -- Must be nice to pay next-to-nothing for waterfront living with nice, big balconies! *shakes fist*
#37 The Pkng Lot on the right of the photo is going to be lined with storefronts along that street (Guise St) within the next couple of years. Much like #38 Williams Coffee Pub which is always packed, btw.
#39 This area is seriously the best place to watch Sunsets as the vista to the West (shown in this photo) is absolutely stunning! *DATE ALERT*
#43 Parks Discovery Ctr -- This lush, green lawn photographed here is now in shambles as it's being turned into a large water feature by summer, and a nice-sized skating rink by winter! Can't wait!
#47 Bayfront Park -- Great place for a Picnic! Downtown Skyline ciew to one side, Waterfront view to the other --beauty ALL around!
