I have a couple more Hamilton tours that I'll be posting here and that'll be it. Some may be sad, some will be relieved :D

For those that don't know, I've moved to Ottawa. So look out in the World Photos section for some Ottawa neighbourhoods. I've photographed one already and will post it soon..there are some interesting architectural differnces from southern Ontario up here in Ottawa.

^Me too Flar. Although I do have mixed feelings about Hamilton. Some parts of it look like a burned out U.S. city but it has great bones. Hopefully, as Toronto gets more expensive, a lot of retirees will move to Hamilton and restore some of the buildings. I'm looking forward to some tours of Ottawa. Your work is very much appreciated.

I never knew Westinghouse had F*** THE POLICE graffiti'd up top. (Ah, if only a Harry Stinson--okay, maybe not *him*--could see the condo conversion potential here.)

Someone tried to convert it to residential a few years ago, but in typical inept Hamilton fashion, the city shot them down because it was too close to industrial. The city would rather have a collection of rotting buildings than budge their zoning (also see the Pearl Company).

Sad about Westinghouse as it would be snapped up in T.O. (even in this economy).

This particular set of photos really remind me of the excellent Real Time movie that actually shot in Hamilton, likely on some of these very streets.

I for one will also be sad when this series comes to an end. Flar, I've been Tweeting them via Urban Toronto's Twitter account for a while now as I think the whole series has been wonderful.

Flar I have loved the series of pics especially Twilight to the Industrial. You have really shown the some of the grittiest parts the city has to offer. Curious to know if you have any photo sets of Windsor so I see you have done many different parts of the southwest.

How nice to see some decent streetscaping and buried electrical wires. It's rare even for Toronto subdivisions with a similar composition of houses.

I'll miss the Hamilton tours for sure. They've reminded me that Hamilton has a plethora of great buildings of various eras which will probably survive into an era or future prosperity.

Good pics of Gibson (Hamilton) here!

Flar: Another good group of pics on another Hamilton neighborhood-Gibson!
I noticed these especially: #2-interesting row houses where exactly?
#30-graffiti somewhat like NYC perhaps...
#39-a neat run-down brick building...
#45-Canadian Westinghouse HQ-as noted by Adma note "F--- THE POLICE" at the top...a neat restorable building here.
South of King Street the area changes and becomes more middle class I presume..
That last pic in the alley is interesting with the 360 degree pic of the corners and graffiti there...
