Here's that addition (and other changes) to Bloor Islington Place as of last night. Not moving quickly, obviously, but finally close to being turned over to whomever. Will it still be Sobey's at the corner? In the meantime, Black Angus has moved west and across the street into another street-side extension to BIP. Never ate at the old Black Angus location…

…and those of course are the major office tenants in the complex.

Weird. That angled corner really should have been the main entrance to the store. Would have generated a much better urban street vibe. Missed opportunity.
It seems logical to have the entrance there, but it would take up a lot of space inside and be a mess in the winter. The main door is right across from the subway entrance in the mall and is very convenient.

They plunked down some uncredited public art at the corner of Bluer & Izlington sometime in the last year. Should have been three times the size, no corten plinth.
