City:
Toronto
manhattanq.jpg

I went to New York City for 4 days last week for the first time. I took over 700 pictures during my stay and I obviously won't be showing them all, but I hope the ones I do show give an idea of what the city is like.

I apologize if some photos are of poor quality or overexposed. The weather wasn't great, but I made the most of it.

The plane is awaiting.

You can find some amazing architecture and some very well preserved buildings in the Soho and Greenwich Village neighbourhoods.

Sorry for the bluriness (I was on a bus). The Woolworth building is the tall skyscraper to the centre right. It was once the tallest building in the world.

Part Two coming!

Marcanadian Takes Manhattan!

Marc: Good pics in Part 1 of your visit!
How did you fare going thru Customs on both ends of your trip?
June 2009 was the 2nd wettest and coolest Junes on record-there were only 6 totally precipitation free days recorded at Central Park's weather station.

I will mention these pics:
#3-The Throgs Neck Bridge looking SE towards Queens and LI. You are flying over the SE Bronx at that point.
#11-Looking W on 59th Street towards the Time Warner Center.
- I agree the Chrysler Building is an Art Deco Classic!
#23-Looking SE-the Flatiron Building is in the lower right.
#24-Looking S towards Downtown Manhattan with Staten Island in the background-the Verrazzano Bridge is in the upper left.
#26-The Pigeon-NYC's "Official Bird"
#27-Looking NE towards the East River.
I sometimes take Manhattan for granted living nearby as I do-LI MIKE
