Interesting vignette in the old photo. Very light pedestrian and vehicular traffic; a couple of young males making some kind of gesture; probably a city worker with a broom; it looks like the Temperman Wrecking sign says 'all materials for sale'; to open 'honour system' newspaper box; the stop sign on the sidewalk side of the pole and the old fire call box.

Kindergarten and Grade one there. Miss Polley and Miss Woods respectively as my first teachers. We lived on Galt Avenue until 1956. We thought downtown was the Danforth, haha. One day we went to the 4th floor and we could see the real downtown for the first time...Bank of Commerce building and the Royal York.
