may was a pretty bad month for photography. two solid weeks of rain. still, i managed to push through a lot of photos because this thread marks the retirement of my camera, a fujifilm s5000, which has served me well for more than two years. i won't say what my new camera is, but i will say that i'm extremely happy with it.

next thread will be a bit early, since i'm leaving for london on june 19th.

Christopher,

Thank you for the pics of our Pleasant Land.

Thanks Christopher,

Seeing those pics makes me HATE the overhead wires and power lines we have here in Toronto even more. Look at what the absence of them does to the city scape.

Oh, the um, female scenery is fantastic as well.

Have fun with the new camera!

most of montreal's retail streets buried their wires a long time ago, but they remain on a handful of more out-of-the-way strips. examples:

victoria avenue, which could use a lot of work in terms of streetscape improvements, sidewalk widening and street furniture:

westminster avenue, about 7 miles west of downtown and out of sight, out of mind for most montrealers:

some neighbourhood commercial streets like st. viateur street in my neighbourhood still have wires, but on streets like this i find it adds to the charm:

wires abound on many residential streets in older neighbourhoods, however, especially in the southwest. at times it's downright oppressive:

Great pics man. I am going to Montreal this week or the next because my dad lives near there.
