Spring is in the air, summer's around the corner, and Montreal's become a fun city again. Thanks for reminding me it's time to get out and explore the city.

It's exquisite, but also sad, considering the desolate feel with all the a louer signs. It was Montreal's Bay St/Wall St back in the day. Perhaps one day, it'll be revitalised.

At least they're still up. It would be disappointing if they were replaced with skyscrapers.

Good Montreal pics!

Martin: Good Montreal Downtown pics! That colored-window building in pic #11 is interesting-what is it?
I also like that group of three old rowhouses in pic #1 on the right side in that block pictured.

Hey, that's where I used to work! Stop making me miss it...

Ganjavih, it's really not that bad, unless it's changed a lot in eight months. From passing through there every day, there are a few buildings for lease, but a lot of them are occupied. The new Westin hotel is renovating a bunch more. None of the buildings look like they're deteriorating, either. They all seem to have been kept in pretty good shape. A lot have some very interesting shops and restaurants.

I think the CDP Capital building is the best office complex built in Canada in the last decade, bar none.

The coloured-window building is the convention centre. The addition looks pretty cool, but it's unfortunately a bit of a wall between downtown and Old Montreal. It's built on top of the Ville Marie expressway.

They've done some amazing projects covering the expressway in that area. Take a look at the Place Jean-Paul Riopelle and Square Victoria, which are built on top of former open trenches, along with CDP Capital.

No, it's not that bad, just saying it's not up to its full potential. Architecturally, it's a gorgeous strip and the buildings are in good shape, but there could be more life on the streets.
