Yes and if he even has a salary I really doubt the salary level is directly tied to the grant. It is probably a set or fixed amount already regardless. Most NPO's do it that way.

I’ve looked. I’ve read the Western Standard article. The article itself admits they did not find any examples of her voting while in a conflict of interest. They made a vague allegation that voting on the full zoning bylaw renewal could have been seen as furthering YEGarden Suites, which is such a stretch.

EVERY councillor has potential conflicts of interest because they are all people with families and private interests. The thing that matters is what happens when those conflicts arise in their work. For Salvador, it appears that she has always acted appropriately.

Still saddened by the low turnout seen in so many of the muni elections. As a comparable big city I saw Calgary was around 39% compared to 30% in Edmonton. I wonder what analysis could explain that fairly significant delta?

Did some quick math. Calgary has 13.3% more voters than Edmonton, but 61% more voting stations.

Maybe Calgary's mayoralty race was more engaging given that there were 3 candidates considered a good chance to win and 5 credible candidates overall. Farkas won with only 27% of the vote which is very rare and indicative of a very split electorate. Knack had 38% which is also considered low, it was clearly just a two-person race.

Edit: difference in voting stations noted above is very notable. Surprised they experienced many long waits as well given that many more voting locations.

You did not present hard evidence, only speculative, and every time someone called you out on it, you deflected. As someone else pointed out, by your kind of logic, all Councilors are in conflict of interest at all times, since they have the power to vote in favour of things that can benefit them far more than the accusations you're making. I am more than willing to hear what you have to say, and even change my mind about her potential conflict of interest, if you present hard evidence, until then it's just a conspiracy theory.
