Given the slenderness of this tower, I wonder if the exterior elements serve as any kind of structural support, like an exoskeleton.

I was hoping the internet would tell me but mostly there's just architect speak:

The design aims to bring back the quality, materiality and proportions of historic NYC towers, while taking advantage of the latest technology to push the limits of engineering and fabrication.

the height and slenderness of this thing is mind blowing! that southern edge of Central Park is getting to be insanely dense! love the quality of the the exterior cladding on this... light years ahead of anything we'd see in Toronto.

Crane up and work proceeding. From today.

This site is notorious for its site security. There are often more people actively trying to block photographers than actively working on the site, since it is so small (65 feet square). The only time to photograph it is late at night in very poor light. At about 1420 feet high, this will be insanely skinny and extremely tall. Taller than 432 Park Ave and about 2/3 of the width at most.

I think this might be the best lighting condition for this one yet. You can only photograph it at night due to obnoxious site security.
It has reached grade level for the tower portion. I think they might wait to do the floor for the front entry atrium in the foreground because of the crane.
