I think this is one of the few remaining original buildings at LeBreton Flats. If I remember correctly, it's an old pumping station.

Various shots at Victoria Island. Perhaps a future Distillery District-type project would work here?

Bienvenue à Québec! This is one of the main streets of Hull (which is now part of the Gatineau megacity).

Unfortunately, those last few pictures are just a blip of Gatineau. Most of the city looks more like this...

I can't remember the name of this little park, but it's just east of the large government complexes in Gatineau and features a house on a little island. It's a bit of an oasis from the rest of the city.

Rail bridge connecting Gatineau to Ottawa. One of the long-term O-Train plans at one point considered using this bridge to serve Gatineau.

Part IV is coming.

Ottawa, especially, looks like the town that they swept at night, and tidy up by all day. Hard to find discarded items anywhere in these photos, no matter how deligently you look. Again, that blessed solitude that pervades most of these photos - and I have experienced there, firsthand - is appealing without a hint of bucolic isolation.

But appearances can be deceiving, and often are to us tourists and distant observers.

Looks like the trusty bicycle is mandatory for these long stretches of land along the waterways. I never brought one there in the past.

Thanks for sharing Darkstar!

I wasn't aware of those old buildings on Victoria Island. The area does look like it could be a Distillery District in the making.

The National Gallery is one of the most impressive buildings anywhere in Canada, IMO.

Thanks again for a set of good views.

I think Victory Island is the subject of a First Nations land claim - as is much of the former Rockliffe air force base.

Good Ottawa/Gatineau pics again!

DK416: Good Ottawa/Gatineau pics! I find that RR bridge across the Ottawa River is interesting-it makes me wonder how the O/G area would be if Quebec ever seceded from Canada-and the Ottawa River became an international boundary. Also-how much of OC Transpo serves the Hull area?
