Someone needs to photoshop Doug wearing the cowboy hat into a Dukes of Hazzard pic.
Did ya one better.

You beat me to it! Despite what Doug says, people do care about Dean French hiring all of his friends and family.

No, only those mass media hyenas do. And they traumatized these appointees so much, they had to quit! Their lives have been ruined! People should care about *that*, except they're fed such disinformation by the biased media!

Well, I guess I'm a mass media hyena. Conflict of interest guidelines and policies are pretty common concepts with most Boards of corporations and non-profits. Effective policies speak to not only de facto conflicts but also the mere appearance of conflict. Public office should not be an employment pipeline for friends and family. No doubt some perfectly qualified people would be eliminated simply by virtue of their relationship with a public official, but that, to me, is an acceptable cost. If you want to hire friends and family, start your own business and spend your own money.

Notice how the Fords' approach to public office is like an extension of "their own business"; and they've *always* made a point of "spending their own money" rather than so-called feeding off the trough, even when it comes to niggly pens-and-erasers stuff. (That's how RoFo came to be consistently, year after year, the lowest-spending Toronto councillor.)

Of course, as the Renata suit indicates, the *way* that they run their business might not be as airtight as they pretend. But, smoke and mirrors can do wonders. (And I'm now reading that Jeffrey Epstein might not be the bombproof zillionaire he pretended to be.)

Always wondered where Rob Ford got his pens, note pads, and other office supplies. Either he "borrowed" the pens from the bank, or "borrowed" office supplies from his family business, Deco Labels, or friends.

Ontario scraps plan for affordable housing in Ford's riding.

The Ontario government has cancelled a plan to build affordable housing on a piece of unused provincial land in Premier Doug Ford’s Toronto riding, saying the original deal wasn’t "good enough".

Under a plan announced by the then-Liberal government in 2017, the vacant 11-hectare site of the Thistletown Regional Centre – once a children’s mental-health facility – was supposed to become an 800-unit housing development, with 160 homes offered at rents at or below average market rent. Another 80 units at the site, which is near the intersection of Kipling and Finch Avenues in northwestern Toronto, were to be made available under an affordable-ownership scheme.

Stop saying "borrowed". He *got* them! The thing is: you, the taxpayer didn't pay for them The Fords are independent businessmen, they can afford to get their own--unlike those lazy loser pinko councillors who'd be nowhere if you weren't paying their tab...

Elect more independent businessmen. Yadig?

Also know as "shrinkage" or "loss".

Something the other "non-business owners" or "ex-employee" Councillors cannot do. They can't go back to their old place of employment and "get" office supplies, like the Fords. That would be "theft".

That is, they're professional troughers. They're living off the avails of we, the taxpayers.

The fewer of those, the better. Who needs Council, anyway? Or for that matter, who needs the Legislature? Abolish it all, and let Boss Ford appoint his buds--who likewise are "independently wealthy" (don't ask how)
