The world's largest mall going up in the same complex as the Burj certainly enhances the effect.
It's also interesting to note how similar the residential towers around the Burj look so much like ours. It's like the Burj is surrounded by block after block of Absolute City Centres. In essence, the setup of the neighbourhood around the Burj appear to be quite similar to MCC.

It also reminds me of Cityplace. Mississauga has its prominent, Disneyesque PoMo.
