we should welcome any type of whimsy or eclecticism

It's quite possible to embrace the notion of whimsy or eclecticism and think that what is rendered here is a horribly failed attempt at delivering on that.

New renderings are updated in the database! The project information is updated. The total unit count proposed a total of 512 units. The total parking space count changed from 47 to 39 parking.

The rendering is taken from the architectural plan via Rezoning application:

Wow. It's like a Hearst Tower (NYC) + CIBC Square with a sprinkle of Zaha Hadid. This went from a bottom of the barrel project to something I'm excited for. The top could be resolved better but the podium is 👌🏻

Can they execute to that level though? The rendering has the usual glazing handwavium problem - you know they probably won't use monolithic panes of that size in the poidum; and what are they using in the tower proper?

That is indeed an excellent question, particularly with TF remaining on as the local architect...

Assuming they use curtain wall, I see no reason why this shouldn't be good though, if not quite as seamless as the rendering.
