I agree this is some of the nicest glass I've ever seen in the city. It reminds me a lot of Shangri-La.

Re: Recladding RBC/Ritz

Id much rather put this hypothetical windfall towards (stripping to the studs & ) re-cladding 300 Front Street in decorative brick, terra cotta, stone /punched windows first. 300 Front should get number one priority as one of the biggest eyesores in the area.

Some photos taken March 16th in the fog. Also when looking at the glass curtain wall another building came to mind Taipei 101. Obviously very different but the silhouette that the building takes seems similar from a distance but with the detail on every floor here vs. every 10th or whatever on Taipei. I guess the angles brought that building to mind.

I can see why you made that connection. Both in the individual glass panels per floor and one or two of the photos you attached.

It certainly does invoke something similar.

Side note, Taipei 101 is one of.my fav buildings of all time, such a privilege to visit. I especially love how the TMD is built so that people can learn about it and observe it.

I used to work at the company that designed that TMD. It had a weird nickname/mascot associated with it: "damper baby" lol
