To construct a new four-storey office building with retail (cafe) at grade.

Interesting project on Geary Avenue at Somerset, west of Ossington. RAW Design for Worsley Urban.

The new building would replace an existing one-storey building used as an auto shop:

Geary remains primarily mixed use and industrial but there's been a fair share of newer retail around the stretch between Dufferin and Dovercourt. Seems inevitable that residential intensification would also be on the horizon.

On a side note, something like this would be perfect for the corner of Davenport and Winona, where that burnt down former auto shop used to be.

This is office though.

According to the discussion happening on the neighbourhood's Facebook Page, RAW Design and Worsley Urban are moving their offices there. Just West of there, it is said that Public Studio, Mercer Union, and Made Design are moving into the recently sold warehouse at 68 Geary. Renovations are underway already.

Geary's really an interesting pocket – a great brewery, a distillery, good coffee, a great neighbourhood bar, lots of art and still some small-scale light industrial.

What's the over/under on how long before rising land values push all that out? Two years?

Update:
Plans have been submitted to the City of Toronto's Committee of Adjustment for a four storey office building at 22 Geary Avenue. On the northwest corner of Geary and Somerset in Toronto's Davenport neighbourhood (just northwest of Dupont and Ossington), the street has seen an influx of entrepreneurship over the last few years, populating the area with "a great brewery, a distillery, good coffee, a great neighbourhood bar, lots of art and still some small-scale light industrial" according to UrbanToronto Forum contributor "adHominem". RAW Design is both architect of and tenant in the new building, which will also become the new home of Worsley Urban Partners who are redeveloping the site, currently an automotive garage.
