Well, it looks like there won't be much activity on that site for a while. The gas station told me they will be shutting down at the end of the month.
 
Demolition has started. A crew is onsite today, and it looks like they started ripping it apart earlier this week.

2908 Yonge Street at Chatsworth Drive – former Petro Canada Site

Latch Developments & First Avenue Properties have submitted a proposal for a 13-storey mixed-use building with 85 residential units and at-grade retail. City Planning wrote a Refusal report. The developer has appealed to the LPAT (PL180573). The Hearing is currently scheduled for 9 days starting on July 27, 2020.

 
No evident movement (today at least), but there's a piece of machinery on site now:

Revised proposal:
[4] The settlement proposes a development of an eleven-storey mixed-use building with 65 two-bedroom dwellings, 22 three-bedroom dwellings and a retail unit at grade level. The proposed development will contain a six (6)storey podium with a tower setback starting at the 7th-storey. The amenity space and mechanical penthouse located on the 11th-storey will have a further setback

[5] Parking for the proposed development will contain 58 underground parking spaces, two (2) ground level visitor parking space, and 62 bike parking space.

[6] A 112.2 square metres Privately Owned Public Space (the “POPS”) will be constructed along the west side of the proposed development. The POPS will give direct access to the Duplex Parkette.

[12] The Tribunal will allow the appeal and direct that the Zoning By-law be amended but will withhold its final Order approving the Zoning By-law Amendment Application for 2908 Yonge Street until such as the City Solicitor confirms that the following Conditions of Approval have been satisfied.
