Strongly agree, the designs could be a lot better. The building should be mixed-use and I think it should be taller as well (20+ at least).

Even Oshawa deserves better than this. Honestly nowhere is immune though, you can find dreck like this in every corner of the GTA, including downtown Toronto.

Oh, it's this site. Definitely a huge misstep in letting that building get demolished, an absolute joke of process. I wrote to the city to advocate for its protection, but alas development interests won out. Even more of a joke considering the house took up such a small portion of the site and could've easily been incorporated into new development.

And now to add insult to injury we're getting one of the most depressingly banal proposals you could imagine. It's a shame since Centre Street actually has a number of attractive heritage buildings, including the neighbouring church; if there was ever a site to make an effort, it's here.
