This screams "draw on me". They're going to spend more money removing graffiti than if they had just paid for some actual windows.

What a pile of trash this has turned out to be. That base is just horrific beyond relief.

Does Cadillac Fairview just not give a damn?

I'm becoming further convinced that architecture--with the exception of landmark tourist attractions--and possibly celebrity mansions-- may no longer matter much to most folks, since few people these days are actually gazing up or out at it. The eventual transition to VR headsets will only exacerbate this trend.
Case in point: Drake's house. "Architecture" as what one chooses for oneself.

And re VR: remember that we have a *lot* of younger cohorts who grew up more entranced by virtual worlds than the prosaic-by-comparison real world. Even when it comes to the Brutalism of the original Simpson Tower aesthetic, a lot of today's next-gen "Brutalist revival" sentiment has less to do with real buildings than with Dune movie sets or Minecraft or Control...

WTH! Just when you thought you'd seen the extent of the butchering they pull this garbage on the bottom floors. All one can do at this point is hope for a restoration. By 2040?

As this is located across from Old City Hall and kitty corner from NPS, it’s no less than a giant middle finger from CF to the City of Toronto.
