Variance application in Hamilton for a significant new manufacturing facility for the LTC Group - an advanced manufacturer of magnetic cores for electrical transformers.

Building is about 500,000sf, including about 50,000sf of office space in a 5-storey office block and 450,000sf of industrial manufacturing areas.

all we have is a site plan:

I feel like it's yet more spillover of the advanced manufacturing which has historically focused more in Halton Region. L3Harris moving to Waterdown, Stryker, Lincoln Electric, now this.

This one is more remarkable as it's up in Glanbrook though instead of Waterdown, which is basically an honorary member of Halton Region.

But yes, as a whole these types of facilities are excellent news. They are full of high-paying jobs and have huge assessment values to help the taxbase. It's exactly the type of use the City desperately needs.

City really needs to work on transit out to this area where a good deal of light industrial is going in. Wouldn't it be great to plan transit ahead of growth for once.

This warehouse would be a short walk from Rymal, which is a planned frequent transit corridor and honestly already has pretty decent transit frequencies. T

Re-Envision HSR shifts the route to connect down the RHVP to Parkdale, and also plans a less frequent local route along a similar alignment to provide connections deeper into the RVHP business park.

Go Hamilton! Refreshing to see a company headquarters set up in Hamilton!
Yes. I'm surprised there haven't been media references about this - it is a huge facility which will employ hundreds of people in high-skill positions and is a new market entry to the country so it's not even an incremental expansion.

For some reason the article I posted is now dead-linked.. All references of this project associated with LTC appear to have been removed online. I suspect they are trying to keep it relatively "secret" for whatever reason.

rendering here for posterity.
