Grmada Holdings Inc has recently submitted a mixed-use planning application on Markham's side of Yonge St. close to the future Clark subway station on Line 1 (~8 minute walk). The application consists of 2x 60s towers (connected via 8s podium), 1,330 units, and 493 (residential) + 135 (visitor/retail) parking spaces. Retail is planned for the ground floor.

I love height in general, but this is pretty far out of a major intersection and is basically taller than anything proposed just south at Steeles and both masterplans just north and south. I don't see them getting 60 stories here let alone 2 of them.

Great to build near the new stations, but within surrounding context or at least a buildup to it. 30-40 stories would seem more appropriate.
