Southwest corner of Bramalea Road and Avondale Boulevard, Bramalea. To the south are two Medallion high-rise rental towers, to the north, a 1960s-era residential area, the oldest parts of Bramalea.

The proponent is proposing a 7-storey building, with terracing to the west. Staff are recommending approval.

Strange address number for a road that starts in Mississauga that's numbered ~ #7999 on the south side of Steeles.

Yeah, but it sort of checks out as Steeles Avenue used to be the border between Toronto and Chinguacousy Townships, and when Bramalea was developed, it was still part of Chinguacousy Township. It was in 1974 that the current Brampton/Mississauga border was defined.

The funny thing is that adjacent streets like Torbram, Dixie, and Airport Rd. just continue. And north of Queen, Bramalea's numbers reset to 9000, with just the 8000 block missing. And then there's the area shown in blue with the North-South thing:
