These poor guys working on the interlocking. They did a stellar job only to have someone come along, pull up some of the bricks, and add street signage. That must be frustrating.
I thought it was a lock that corner was a Shoppers.
One of the car dealerships just RETURNED to 322 Front Street after seeing a big drop-off in business when they crossed the DVP.What are the odds the remaining car dealers and parking lots close to this are turned into housing soon?

The convenience of being accessible from the Southbound exit from the DVP was a huge driver of their Services business, etc.

Yea thats where the Chrysler dealer went and then moved back fromThere are multiple dealerships around Cherry House. That said, I don't think they would necessarily need to close (permanently) to increase density in the area.
Isn't there a Hyundai dealership built into a condo just over the DVP? I wouldn't see an issue with doing something like that on these lots as well.
The condo market's dead. Nothing's happening anywhere any time soon. Even PBR buildings are doubtful since rents are dropping. What are the odds the remaining car dealers and parking lots close to this are turned into housing soon?
Yeah, just ignore the beautiful distillery district, the vibrant St. Lawrence neighbourhood immediately to the west, an ever evolving East Bayfront to the south, a historic Corktown to the North, and two of the best parks in the city in Corktown Common and Okwemin Minising.Nothing like paying downtown prices to be in the thick of it all… if “all” meant sandwiched in between car lots and dealerships. Might as well give us an Arby’s already if we’ve gotta live with this blight.
How about why do we have such a great neighbourhood where this crap is allowed. Is this such a crucial part to urban planning? We’ve had folks demanding 40-67 storey towers for years, demanding super density around soooo much transit. So where’s the vehemence that we’re utterly wasting all this space with dealerships?Yeah, just ignore the beautiful distillery district, the vibrant St. Lawrence neighbourhood immediately to the west, an ever evolving East Bayfront to the south, a historic Corktown to the North, and two of the best parks in the city in Corktown Common and Okwemin Minising.
You’re right, what a dreadful place to live.
