Wow, I had no idea Toronto had its own 13th century Romanesque church! What is that building?

Edit: referencing amh's shot from a couple of posts ago.

Looks like St. Paul's Basilica to me.

It's at Queen and Power, and it was built in 1887.

Interestingly......'listed' but not designated historically.

This is the frontage, facing Power Street, Queen St. on the left of the photo:

Construction Notice

Dear neighbours:

Below is a brief update on the CIBC SQUARE project:

Construction at 141 Bay Street
Construction at 141 Bay Street continues to progress as crews excavate and build the foundations of the building. Excavation on the eastern portion of the site has reached P5. The forming and pouring of core concrete foundations in the central area of the site is complete and the vertical core walls are complete to P2. The footing for a fourth tower crane is in progress with crate erection targeted for the end of February. The forming of the early logistics slab at grade has been completed to Yonge Street.

Overbuild Park
The next phase of construction for the overbuild park is ongoing. The erection of new steel trusses is complete, the lower-level steel decking has been installed, and the concrete topping at this level has been poured. To ensure safety, this work will take place overnight as it requires access to the active Metrolinx rail corridor – no construction personnel are permitted to work in the rail corridor when trains are in operation. This phase of work is expected to continue until May 2022.

When are we working?
The following working hours are expected at CIBC SQUARE starting Tuesday, February 22nd and in effect until June 30, 2022:
  • 7AM - 10PM Monday to Friday: Regular working hours at 141 Bay Street as permitted by the City of Toronto
  • 11PM - 5AM Monday to Saturday: Overnight work in the rail corridor for the park overbuild
  • 9AM - 7PM Saturday: Regular working hours at 141 Bay Street as permitted by the City of Toronto

We thank you in advance for your patience during this phase of construction. For any questions or comments, please email us at community@CIBCSQUARE.com.

Conspicuously absent: any progress or a revised opening date for the Phase I half of the Overbuild Park.

I did notice the glass panels on the stairs leading to the overbuild park is finally installed. The food court also might open soon seeing as office workers are starting to return

EDIT: Apparently the food court opening is still TBD, wondering if they’re having issues filling the space with the lower GO traffic still.
