Well I mean take your pick; have Metrolinx spend hundreds of thousands to replace the panels and have it take 5 years after engaging with their consultants on what to do because they're slow with everything, or do it the "quick and easy" way.

They should have used an anagram generator and reused the panels! (Yes, I'm joking). "Science Recent" or "Nice Screen Etc" would have been fun!

It would probably look nice if they had picked any colour other than black. (Though since red is the TTC's corporate colour, that would be boring too.) I'd suggest blue or green.

No, that is for Wheel-Trans, but it is weird that across most of route whenever they did road work they put the bike lanes in with raised bike lanes with yellow zones at bus stops, but not here.

I presume there will be more to it. As shown, it is not much shelter if there's a wind.
Over a decade ago, all shelters and garbage cans at the intersection were removed to make way for construction.
Restoration of garbage cans should be next, though they might cover them over so they can't be used until the line opens.
