Are we even sure the "bedding in period" is still a thing? That was a Phil Verster legacy. The Global News article suggests the line could open soon after RSD is successfully completed.

No it is not a legacy thing. Current MX CEO Lindsay frequently states in press conferences that there will be a bedding in period after substantial completion is declared

Iirc there was mention of the bedding in period taking at least a month of zero issue service simulation and if there's issues they may restart that clock....

The most unexpected change seems to be moving northbound Keele buses into Keelesdale terminal, would this not be considered part of the project? I'm surprised they're able to do that, especially since the terminal has been complete for a while now.

Every time I’m trying to get through that section in the afternoon, it takes 5 minutes to get to Brentcliffe and another 4-5 to get to Leslie if I’m not making that left turn. That third lane ends at Brentcliffe which forces all the cars to merge. The backlog from the Leslie left turn backs everything up. The 88 still has to go through that mess.

I've lived in the area for 8 years, and commute through there every day, both ways. I frequently go through there on weekends, too. I have never experienced what you are describing.

It's been planned for a while, there was some work on the intersection that was actually being completed under the extension contracts because of the cycle track diversion.

How does that timeline work when the city says it takes around 14 days to declare substantial completion? Nov 7th + 14 gets us way past Nov 16

In the mornings it’s fine. I passed by around 10:30am this morning. It was pretty clear but once it reaches the afternoon, it can be backed up before Laird.

Yeah, or even past Sutherland if its around that sweet spot between school being out and rush hour (4-5 pm).
That being said, hopefully the Crosstown makes a big enough dent in that gridlock come time. And I mostly mean for the future....especially since Leslie and Eglinton will continue to be a choke point for all users, including when it opens, Crosstown vehicles in rush hour.

Once they achieve 3 consecutive weeks of RSD without any problems they can technically start the process of certifying Substantial Completion.

I suspect the RSD and bedding in period will happen concurrently.

We will know for sure once finch lrt hits its 30 days and the opening day is announced

When can we expect to see the updated maps including both new lines on all the subways and busses…thats the one thing I have been looking forward too
