Earlier this morning there was a Hamilton Wastewater workers picketing at the New HSR facility site and City’s operations centre on Wentworth.

These HOWEA workers are on strike and usually picketing outside the Woodward Wastewater treatment plant since May 14 and sometimes on other city properties.

Installations around office building, bollards installed around garage doors, curb installations underway and CNG tanks installed at the back. Landscaping will be beginning in the fall along with the sidewalks around Brant and Hillyard streets. (Aug 22, 2025)

I would hope that the contract stipulates the designs need to be compliant with Canadian codes, which is pretty boilerplate, meaning the cost would be on the contractor unless they have a meaningful claim otherwise. All in all this seems like a big nothing-burger and everyone is out for blood.
