All my Oct shots are now on line
Looking at
@Tim MacDonald great shots, a number of things stand out and why the QEW interchange is not done.
If one look close at Tim shot north of the Queensway, you will see Paisley intersection is still not close considering the sign said Nov 14. Floradale intersection is now gone as excavation is done from south of King St to Just north of Paisley. With the closing of Floradale intersection raise some issues and can't recall if it will be replace or not. With the intersection close, how do the folks who use the bus stop there get across Hurontario to get to/from them??? In my stop spacing list posted in the thread, I called for the removal of the stop as it is under 300m between King and Paisley stops that did not existed until about 10 years ago to meet the needs of few riders living in the apartments/Condos next to the stop. The transit riders going south now have to get off at King or Paisley to get to their residents.
Looking at the photo for the North Service Rd, the curb lane is ready, put a few hydro poles need to be move that is supposed to take place in 2025/26 as well being use for the close access lane to the QEW.
As to
@Dan416 comment on the northbound lanes, the photos, MTO is calling the shots since this is their interchange with detail design drawings meeting their standards as well dealing with the Credit River QEW bridge. Look at the photo for the southside and you can see the current ramp to go eastbound is in the way if you draw a line from the finished section to the south corner. Also, by the looks, that existing ramp will be shifter to the south where new grading taking place and until that is done, the northbound lane cannot be built as well the sidewalk. MTO Stills needs to build another lane over Hurontario to allow for a future HOV lane in both directions and that may have an impact as to where work is is now. MTO did delay the placement of the push box that was done at the end of the month in place of Thanksgiving weekend,
The close southbound lanes for the QEW is head scratching as why it is not done by now as all utilities work has been done especially under the overpass with pave lane and sidewalk in place. There even some new curbs poured in various places. I thought the westbound off ramp was being shifted more south especially where it has been excavated on the southside, but the curb said no.
As for the substation, never really look at that area as I thought it was utilities taking place. I hope they plan on putting bollards around it as we don't need some driving into it and killing power for the line in this area.
I will leave it to
@Dan416 to tells us what is taking place for the southbound curb lane from Fairview to CP bridge as I haven't looked at it in a week and Friday may allow me to see what paving has taken place from Fairview to Dundas.
As it stands now as of Nov 16, Burnhamthorpe station platform is fully rebar that it can be form and concrete pour for it. The guideway base is also poured with both ends still to be done as well the centre curb.
The guideway base is poured from Robert Speck to Square One Dr with both ends still to be done. All the centre curbs are in place as well.
The ramp sidewalk to Rathburn/City View still close and waiting handrail so it can be open.
Rathburn has been paved from the Transitway to the elevated ramp west end waiting striping and to be open for 2 lanes of traffic westbound. No idea what is plan for the large section of Rathburn between the Transitway and City Centre intersection as the the new lane is 6 inches lower than the existing road that will be come the centre lanes as well eastbound traffic lanes.
There are 2 large heating machines under the elevated section west of the intersection with 4 large heating ducts attached to the underside only working. No idea what taking place in this area as I cannot get a shot of it and a drone close up shot will show it.
Nov 16
Still got a backlog of 1500 to get to these shots for that day and a few unedited and not tag
