Yea....give us something that looks like the Bay n Elm addition...good god no. These are beautiful buildings for the period and are well positioned/planned all throughout.

And by all accounts these buildings are well-built and not done on the cheap - covering it up and fundamentally changing the outward appearance in the name of updating it would be a travesty.

(The landscaping is also of note - done by the Sasaki)

To me the vertical stripes make it look like the pre-renovation Thomson building (or whatever it's called now), which is from the same era.

Yes, the updated building (401 Bay) turned out atrociously - and that's with expressed vertical elements integral to the original design.
