Interesting to see the decorative piece being added back—not sure it's considered a cornice since it's not at the crown of the building.

Looked throng the Toronto heritage evaluation report for this building and it looks like the building actually went through quite a few renovations with the "cornice" being removed sometime before 1973. Can't believe this building is over 100 years old! (Source)
