Guess they may put on the first coat of asphalt before winter really arrives. The final coat is only done when construction in the area is basically over - they just put the final coat on the western 'leg' of Merchant's Wharf last month.
Which you would have thought would have been bricks like the southern portion....

I would not have thought that; the 'southern portion' is the Waterfront Promenade, Merchants Wharf is a street and the City uses asphalt for streets. Would bricks have looked nicer? Probably but .....

Yes, it's meant to act as an extension of the Waterfront Promenade when they close it, but it's still the same street. How do you explain Edgewater then?
 
December Paving Song? Well, it sounds about as good as their music. Anyways, this developments really stsrting to transform this area. Monde will no longer be lonely.
I was thinking of Where the Streets Have No Name. But I don't want to mention that too loudly as Mr. Towered might get mad again. >.<
