I'm not sure why they covered the Yonge sidewalk with asphalt, at least that's what I think it is, but they did! On a good note, it looks like they were unloading crane parts so we should see some growth soon:

Photos taken today, Friday (July 12). Sorry for the large batch of 14 here... Since my post last Friday, a lot of progress all around on the tower. At the top, the super column forms and scaffolds have moved up a level, and the side and inside corner blue forms have now jumped the third mechanical level to join the super-column forms. From what BloorMan and others say, it looks like they are level 62, the point at which higher floors have different plans depending on how high the tower will go. I saw some activity on top of the exterior elevator (barely discernible in the Devonshire shot), maybe the crane will rise now that those scaffolds have been lifted over the mechanical section. Below, the corner scaffolds are up a level on two sides, I believe, up around level 54/55. Meanwhile, the black Rail Climbing Systems (RCSs) have all moved up a level, last week they were at 34, 34 and 33 for the east, north and west RCS, respectively, this week they are at 35, 35 and 34. On the south side, glass has been partly installed on floor 36, the last floor of this "mega section," if It can be called that, between the 1st and 2nd mechanical sections, and once the RCSs rise past that, two weeks from now at this rate, we'll get a better look at the unique shape of the tower.

Starting with my usual Flickr "time-lapse" album addition, link below, then to the views from the south, views of the glass partly in on level 36. Crane shots, etc, going wide and getting the light play there. The view from in front of Holt Renfrew on Bloor near Balmuto, then another shot from near there, showing the netting - and an open window lower down! The view from Cumberland, east of Bay, then a few from by the old Bay entrance on Bloor east of Yonge, and by the Bloor/Yonge intersection of the top. Finally, a shot from Devonshire.
