Are there many projects in Toronto that were built with FSI > 18?

Yes - off the top of my head RCMI is in the high 30s, Theatre Park is 20+, etc. Anytime you see a project of significant height in an infill site with little to no podium to speak of you are probably looking at one with high FSI. Height in and on itself isn't sufficient.

So…

There won't be a lot of people happy about this, but the diagrid bracing is gone from the building. Word is that it was simply too expensive. Everything comes with a budget attached.

The heritage facade of Hue's Kitchen is being retained in the redesign.

More to come.

I guess we can all call it "The other one" now

Of course. Unbelievable. It was too good to be true in Toronto.

Was it just a ruse to placate Torontonians temporarily after the Stollery’s demolition?

Ridiculous! Total bait and switch!

I wasn't entirely impressed with the original proposal based on the hype. It grew on me over time. All that for nothing.

The tower is now—possibly—to be a square, moving it further from away The Uptown.
