I wonder if NF will ever attract the urban crowd and develop a dense condo cluster?
I mean, who would have thought that Grimsby would have all the highrises it has now? Assuming there is local job growth to support it, I can see a small cluster developing.

I was more thinking along the lines of the Falls developing an actual big-city downtown culture.

The casino/ gambling industry is a double edge sword. It brings in economic development, but also attracts a seedy crowd, and shady businesses (pawn shops, tourist traps). Tons of surface parking for all the tourists, and most high-rises are hotels rather than condos. I would wager a lot of condos built in NF will probably run as short term rentals for gamblers/ tourists. I don't think Las Vegas has had much success building any type of a downtown core outside of its gambling industry. Although NF has the benefit of not being built in the middle of the desert and with proper transit investments, can be connected to other nearby towns/ cities.

Some excavation shots from the development’s Facebook page:

Has anybody been there recently? i really want to see the progress. Niagara should really focus on beautifying their city, as outside of fallsview casino, clifton hill and the waterfront street
Niagara really is rundown and ugly. if one wants to go from their hotel on fallsview blvd, to Clifton hill it isn't exactly a scenic route.

From what I heard on NFC council that they're focusing on draining the water table around the site. And construction should start again in May. I also heard from someone that they're reapplying for even greater hieghts. Like 77 Niagara development but I'm not sure about that lol! As far as beautifying the tourist streets. They're way behind in fixing up other major local streets that are badly needed for the locals just like in the Toronto's streets! But in due time they will persevere lol!

Due time is over-due time; you need to get on them, starting w/the Mayor, go get'em!

Nice to see these developments on Stanley. I think most visitors do a loop between Fallsview - waterfront - Clifton. End up having to go through those run down motels and surface lots parallel to Stanley with nothing much of interest. Shooks Jamaican there is awesome tbh. The aspects of Vegas I would be interested in seeing at NF involve the large pedestrian plazas, outdoor fountains, lit up skyline, entertainment venues. Fallsview does deliver this but I'm thinking even more options to what exists. That's the beauty of Vegas.

On May 1st, 2023. The website called 105theriver.com made one of the announcements this weekend, and Stanley District is one of them. They announced that Stanley District construction will resume within few months.

That's good that they are resuming the job in late summer. I guess they pushed it back a few months from what a heard on council for the beginning of May!

No new activity since December. Also no activity on their social media channels either. Actually, I lied - the office on site is doing it's best to fall over.

I've heard the water table statement as the reason for work halting. But, I also heard rumours from the workers on site that funding dried up in December. Time will tell!

It would be nice to get the sidewalk on Allendale back from their dirt storage area.
