A report to the next meeting of SCC offers a City-Initiated Zoning by-law-amendment to address the various components of the SSE not yet addressed; and/or changes do to evolving design.

Report here: https://www.toronto.ca/legdocs/mmis/2022/sc/bgrd/backgroundfile-223971.pdf

What may be of interest to some is that we have the list of properties assembled for a number of different project components:

With the recent start of the Eglinton west extension tunneling, how long till this project starts its tunneling?

Also what is to become of the RT stations do they get preserved to appear in commercials and open up on Doors Open. And save a trainset or 2.

I highly doubt they will be saved. Unlike Lower Bay the stations serve no useful purpose once decommissioned.

Midland, Ellesmere, STC and McCowan are also part of the Guideway. You can't tear down the gudieway and leave them intact. Midland for example straddles Midland Avenue.

Kennedy is likely the only station to be saved and that's only because like Lower Bay it remains part of an active station. Don't forget Kennedy sits directly above the Kennedy Station bus bays

If much of it gets demolished I'm pretty sure that transit geeks will be lining up to buy up the remains of those stations, particularly signage.

Scrap and scrap, most likely. Land then passed to Create TO etc for better use, with the (rumoured) use of the guideway as a linear park.

If the TTC offered a set to Halton County Railway (or others), I'd expect they'd decline the offer, given the complicated, fiddly and expensive linear motor stuff - and the fact that the units are literally falling apart (hence their imminent retirement!). At best, it would be a static model.
Maybe a fire sale of signage etc - but there's nothing really worth keeping from the stations. (the stations don't have artwork, for example)

I'm not a fan of saving the guideway; its unremarkable. Its not 'The Highline' Scaborough isn't so lacking park space and the deadzone created under the guide way isn't great for the public realm.

Better to scrap it all.

In the case of Kennedy...............

Anyone for Toronto's largest subway station sheltered bike parking? The ramp is a pretty gentle grade......connected to the Meadoway bike trail.........

Unfortunately, it will be replaced by a GO Platform. Maybe they can add a light weighted ramp somewhere, the RT platform is great for bike parking.

SC31.19 - Metrolinx Scarborough Subway Extension - Scarborough Centre GO Bus Relocation

"Metrolinx GO Transit buses (GO Bus) and intercity buses currently operate out of the TTC Scarborough Centre Station (SCS) at 290 Borough Drive. In Fall 2022, GO Bus and intercity buses must relocate from the existing terminal as TTC requires the extra space in the SCS to run additional bus service to accommodate the decommissioning of Line 3 Scarborough, scheduled for 2023.

The Scarborough Subway Extension (SSE) project is constructing a new regional bus terminal, at north-east corner of McCowan Road and Bushby Drive, which is anticipated to open in 2030. This will be the future permanent home of GO Bus.

In an effort to maintain GO Bus service at Scarborough Centre, the GO Bus operations will be temporarily relocated to the east side of Borough Drive, between Progress Avenue and Triton Road from September 1, 2022 to December 31, 2030."
