I would love to see BVS converted. Even just two of the towers. Either way though, interesting that there's been so many major properties changing hands.

Me neither, but if I had a choice of buildings to convert BVS would at or near the top of the list. It's centrally located with a nicely laid out +15 retail set up. From a design perspective, the floorplates are larger than say Cornerstone or Tek Place, etc.. but smaller than many of the other office buildings.I can't see this one being residential conversion, they just upgraded it and probably more of a case for Omers/AimCo to sell while CGY office is doing slightly better than few years back.
Probably means that the market has finally bottomed out and properties have marked down to market clearing prices. This is a good sign!$140 million is crazy cheap for 1.4 million square feet. The Bow sold for $1.25 Billion for 2 million square feet a few years ago. Sitting on the space could pay out better than a massive conversion.
Why would BVS not be well suited for conversion?Probably means that the market has finally bottomed out and properties have marked down to market clearing prices. This is a good sign!
BVS is not well suited to conversion, other than having small floor plates.
I would say any investment in McMahon would be minor. The Grey Cup is about so much else other than the game. They'll probably add temporary suites versus temporary seating like they use to.https://calgary.ctvnews.ca/cfl-to-make-announcement-at-calgary-s-mcmahon-stadium-1.7103060

Grey Cup 2026 + facility expansion?
Where is the money coming from? Unlike the new event centre that will be used 100’s of times a year for various things. A new footballs stadium has few uses. Big white elephant for the near $1 Billion price tag.We need new stadium, considering that is UofC's ground. For a city of this size and potential, not having a proper stadium is a missed opportunity.
Most provinces have 1 flagship stadium and ours is in Edmonton. I'd rather that money be spent on community amenities (rec centres, sports field, etc.) that will actually improve people's lives. We need new stadium, considering that is UofC's ground. Which other provinces have two major cities of roughly equal size, though? Most provinces have 1 flagship stadium and ours is in Edmonton
